Hi everyone

We are upgrading our mobile systems this weekend, 9pm Friday 25th to Sunday 27th July. While the upgrades are occurring, some services will be unavailable for mobile customers including:

  • My Vodafone (both the smartphone app and website)
  • Credit Card top ups (other ways still available, take a look at the full list of ways to top up)
  • Finding out your balance by TXT
  • Changing plans
  • Moving from Prepay to On Account
  • Moving your phone number to a new SIM card
  • Prepay Boosts will not be available to purchase
Please also note, our customer service team won't be able to access your account during the upgrade.

You will be able to use your current txt, minute and data allocations, as well as your current Prepay balance during these times as normal, but will not be able to make any changes. So please make sure you change your plan, top up or call 321 to grab a Prepay Boost before 9pm on Friday.

All services will be restored by Monday 28th July.

We will add a reply to this post as the work is completed.

Cheers

Dylan

That being the case, should I not expect to see some mention of this on the Vodafone website?

Ok,

I'll say the usual thing I always say on Vodafone Social Media sites when they say they are doing a system upgrade

''I hope this is to enable the system to do roll over minutes and data''

cheers

Bit different to the introduction of Siebel in the first place - I remember when that happened and it was impossible to get your account balance or remaining minutes for somewhere along the lines of an entire month!

Yes that was back in June of 2007.
Now I guess the second best thing I would like to see would be real time billing for on account, that way I know in real time how many mins or data I have left, like straight after making a phone call the minutes get deducted (Like Two Degrees have for pay monthly)

@Quibbler Real time rating is already in place and has been for a while check your data then use some check it straight away same for minutes and SMS

Edit: Not for grandfathered plans as they needed to remain on the old rating engine but we have the latest and greatest in place now

The initial deployment was well before that, it was around the middle of 2004. Wasn't it Siebel as well that Vodafone moved to Australia and then had to move it back to NZ because the performance was terrible?

Real time rating was introduced a quite a few months ago. I'm surprised nobody has actually commented on it here on GZ.

Siebel wave 1 was late 2004 and then Siebel wave 2B was 2005 / 2006

Incorrect, I'm on a Smart Business Basics plan with minutes and texts to Aussie (so it's not a old plan)
And I have been texting quite a bit but the last text in my account shows 3:30 PM.

@Quibbler Real time rating is in place I was across the project and also look after the platform in production and preprod so it looks like the plan you are on is not on the new platform

Edit: Red plans
