Is Vodafone planning to sell the Nokia Lumia 635 soon? Telecom and 2degrees sell it already - but I'd prefer to purchase one from Vodafone direct :)

Buying it either way from Telecom or 2Degrees if they are not going to sell will still work with Vodafone. Look out for specials with The Warehouse and DSE as it was $240 for 2Degrees version last week.

Had a look today (at the Glenfield Vodafone shop) but to no avail.

I'd prefer to buy it from VF, that way if something happens I can take it back to them and only deal with one company. Also I'd like to be pay for it via my VF account.

Actually, I think the Lumia 930 might be better:

How long is "coming soon"? Can I pay this off on my VF bill?

This phone seems to have all the features I would use (including the camera flash)...

I would guess early August. They have had the coming soon page for couple of weeks now. If you can afford to pay it outright, then PBTech or ParallelImported have physical stores around the country and have it for $790. Vodafone RRP is more than likely going to be $999. If you want to pay it off with monthly installments then your best bet would be Noel Leeming or Harvey Norman's 20% off sale mobiles and do a interest free deal with them.

Be aware that the 930 is missing an awesome feature that is present in the 920 and 1020 range the glance screen, but if you have never had it then you probably wouldn't miss it.

In fact, upon looking into this a little more and reading a few reviews, I've put together a wish list of features I'd like to have on my next phone, since it will be my last upgrade for a while.

Must have:

  • Nokia brand
  • 4G, 3G and 2G
  • Decent(-ish) camera with flash
  • FM radio
  • Streaming audio and video
  • USB connectivity
  • Easy-to-use interface
  • Reasonable battery life
  • GPS with maps
  • Not cost the Earth

Nice to have but not necessary:

  • Cell Info Display
  • Expandable memory
  • Torch

Any of the Lumias come close to this? There are so many models. List subject to change as I think of more features smile

Nokia Lumia 1520. $600 at most parallel importers in NZ.

Haven't heard anything about the 635, I'll check with the team and let you know when I hear back. :)

First week of August. The 930 is very cool - and yes, you can pay it off using the Monthly Device Payment option.
