I'm new to vodafone.

Pxt == mms? is that right?

I'm getting sms messages that say "go to pxtworld.co.nz" to view a pxt. I thought gsm had better MMS retrieval - is there somethign i need to do to get "proper" MMS going on my handset? It's a Sony Ericsson W880, vodafone branded.

Hey Taniwha, have you sent a PXT out from your phone first?? Sometimes you have to send a PXT first before you can receive, this is only a one off as you would then be activated on the PXT server, hope that helps!!

yes, i sent one - this sms i got is apparently the reply to my original MMS

I'd suggest that you send the pxt to someone else. It might not work if you're just sending to yourself. also get someone else to send you a pxt and see if that works.

Since you managed to get the sms about pxtworld I'm assuming that you've got the right settings and that the mms mad it to the mmsc.

i have sent several to different people -- their replies are MMS, and they arrive as "go to pxtworld".

rats...

will call those 777 people and hear some hold music.

This would indicate there is a setting probably not right.
Somewhere on the vf website is a list of the correct settings and you can even get them sent to you by sms if I rcall
