Hi

our street is going to be all hooked up for UFB in a week or two and I'm quite excited since were currently sitting on 800KB/sec. However the horror stories from UFB adopters I've seen on here and gpforums have left me concerned as to the reliability and ease of instillation.

Could someone from vodafone assuage my fears smile

So the 'instill' in your title is the fear factor?

UFB is as it is... CHORUS install it (mostly) and VF are just the 'salesman' in the middle, who have little control of the 'instAll' process, until it's actually working.. Then you get to join the bash-VodaFone crew on GZ if you need to call Helpdesk for setup problems, or just PM JohnR or TimA who come out in the VF Black Helicopter and wave their wand while you make tea/coffee/etc. and laugh at people who aren't GZers :)

Hello sealed

I'm more worried about the Vodafone side of things holding up the install and confusing the whole process wink

Expect a lengthy wait before you get UFB installed. We have just got a install date locked in, and it will be 2 1/2 months after I placed the request, and that's with no hold ups, the other section on our cross lease requested UFB before us so the consent retirements for our shared driveway were not an issue, and no civil works were required, fiber has been run down existing conduit. (currently taped to power meter box awaiting final stage of the insulation).

Sounds like some regions are faster than others (i.e. Dunedin). I'm in Auckland.

If you live in a multi unit dwelling sounds like you could be in for a 1 -12 mounth + wait.
