Definitely!  Actually, I went back to prepay a few months before the release of Super Prepay.

I spent on average $60 with an account plan (very basic plan).  Now on prepay, I am sending more texts and making more calls and I spend around $30 a month.  Prepay for life!

I've already stripped my account down to the bare minimum of $20 per month for choose 20, from a Choose 60 + 100 nights and weekends + 200 sms + 1GB plan.

Moved most services over to Telecom (Flexi mytime) and there are a few complications (the partner and her preference for SE phones) which are holding me back from porting the number over.

I would seriously consider it if I could do it without changing my phone number. I do find it much more convenient to receive an itemised bill at the end of the month rather than messing about with account top-ups, but because I rarely use my phone these days I think switching to Prepay would save me money.

If I could get a data plan on pre-pay I'd move for sure.  I only ever receive calls and check VM now and then - 95% of my usage is data.
A bit OT, but can you receive calls on a data sim? (I read you could make calls, but at $20 per minute or something).

You can have it removed and yes you can recive a call but if you accidentally make a call, Cha ching!

I'm on Base 20, It's the ultimate plan but it comes screwed with a 24 month contract. (I signed up for the Choose 60 Free motorola promotion, trademe'd the phone and I downgraded for the $75 fee after selling my "free" phone. the cash I got for the phone would easily pay the disconnection fee of $160 if need be so it was a win-win fior me)

In ten days the cancellation fee on my Choose 20 plan will only be $40.

So many people on geekzone have sent me private messages saying BestMate OA will be out soon, couple of weeks, less then 4 weeks... Vodafone staff have consistantly told me it will be out soon, Vodafone retail staff have said it will be out soon.

I have been using a prepay number for the past 2 weeks and in 10 days, my OA number will be cancelled. Since i been on prepay, i've been able to make long calls in the evenings for only $2... on my account plan id have to pay like $30 for 300 off peak minutes, prepay is much better value for that.

The number i call the most on prepay is free to call anytime, on you choose most of my minutes are used up in a few days calling the same person.

Prepay is much better value then OA and i don't care what people say, OA won't have BestMate or anything like that for a very long time.... Vodafone and people that think they know whats going on in Vodafone have bullsh*tted for too long!

Bye bye on account!!

The opposite is true for people that make lots of calls during the daytime, and still nothing from vodafone to keep a prepay number and move to a plan.

Shocking really, and been promised that for ages as well. Vodafone are one broken promise after another. I think their selection of ISP to buy was quite apt ;)

Talked to Vodafone today....

They told me that BestMate had been strongly recommended to be part of YouChoose.

I was offered 200 anytime minutes free for the next 3 months if i didn't cancell my account. The representitive then told me that BestMate OA would be available very soon.

I took up the offer and now don't have to cancel my account.

Thank you Vodafone, finally i'm starting to feel like they do actually want my business.

I overheard in the week, some chatter among staff while I was at a Vodafone dealer about "training for new pricing plans" next week and how they would fit in the roster..... It might finally be a reality, though we have had false alarms before (like them suddenly extending free text weekends at the last minute)

Let's hope it's the removal of the stupid "Core plans" and something innovative like Telecom's FLEXI.

I was always going to stay with Vodafone, i was just going to move from AO to PrePay.

Had my OA number since i turned 18, so i've had it for over 5 years. Really didn't want to loose it.
