Hate to keep all our valued supporters in suspense but just a small update on the Naked Bitstream offerings since there is a lot of guessing going on at present Wink

We are presently finalising the pricing of the convergent Naked Bitstream bundles that we will be releasing in October and users can expect to see bundled VoiP & DSL packages from WxC starting from $69.95 (incl GST)

Bundles will include the full VFX suite of services as well as our well-loved (and best performing) ISP services etc.

Pricing and launch date will be confirmed on our web site shortly so don’t get locked into any 1 year contracts with the other blokes as you will miss out.

On this $44 you mention have you counted extras such as voice mail, last number dial, etc, that are free on VFX?

Another thing to watch ninjabear, I suspect this won't be FS/FS for this price as the current cheapest plans aren't either

If its not $70 for fs/fs +voip I see no reason to ditch my telephone line thru telecom.Even if the bill was thru xnet

well don't then, there are plenty of us that are stoked that naked dsl is coming :-)

your adding is a little off, $44 + $50 = $94. Even if you get the same internet service + VOIP for this price or a little more you will be better off as your tolls will be cheaper, you'll have the other services MF mentioned, etc etc.

Nice price... I'm with the amazing Orcon deal at present but depeding on what's on offer for the same money I might just be tempted to switch.

Maverick, Any plans to support the N95 as a SIP device in the future? I want to have one solution rather than multiple accounts.

Not very much, How much do you want to save or do you want it for free.

Is the $69.95 for a FS/FS. or what prices are looking at for FS/FS.

I thought the point of the naked bitstream was that we could save some money and disconnect our phone line with telecom?I didn't say i want it for free but was hoping some saving so I can disconnect my phone line altogether

If there's no difference in ditching your phone line with telecom then what is the point of joining naked bitstream?

You can always skype or other programs to make voip call... and save the trouble from disconnecting with telecom ....

forget your FS/FS and try and work out from this new determination from the Commerce Commission what type of plans we will be offered. Meantime though I think Phils advice to not sign up anywhere but to hang on a bit and wait is good advice.

Understandable Paradoxm having one device is always good, Have a N95 myself btw I wonder why Wink , A few security issues with this type of device  which we don't want to comprise customers account security, so a number devices are being looked at for but can't commit to if we will exactly support this Device yet.

The benefit that everyone so far failed to mention, is that with VFX you can take your phone line with you.  That's great for us, as we often visit family for a weekend and take out box with us.  That way we still get our calls, and we can still call my folks in South Africa for 10c per minute.  Yes people can call us on our mobile, but that is expensive and we are cheap.

... What I'm *MOST* interested about is the more reliable, business focused DSL Service - What is the pricing and SLA's around this???

We have clients we would LOVE to sell this too, as it would make the whole Cheaper...but more unreliable arguement have less of a downside (or a decision based on price/uptime could be made.)

The draft determination makes no differentiation as to the speed of the "Basic Service". There's no such thing as FS/128, or 256/128. There's only FS/FS.

Then again, that's not to stop each provider putting their own limits in place, but it seems kind of pointless. I'd say the $69.95 is going to be for something along the lines of FS/FS, 10-15GB of data, with VFX.

GEOMAX: The commerce commission has nothing to do with setting specific plans. They only set the wholesale price that the access is charged at - by Telecom to the ISP. The ISP then adds costs for internet traffic and ISP services, and comes up with a final plan price.

I would change to this in a shot if WxC allowed Asterisk support on VFX. Sadly, I'm beginning to think this day might never come though! :(
