I have a new prepay VF SIM (it works in a very old GPS tracker I have in a car) and while I was setting it up recently in my phone to make sure it all worked I noticed that I was getting regular SMS from VF encouraging me to buy things etc... I tried texting back "stop" to prevent this but that didn't work.

Is there any way to opt out of all SMS communication from VF on a pre-pay SIM? The device it's going into won't like it.

I did try phoning up one evening but gave up affter 15 minutes on hold.
