Just when you thought that mobile data prices were going down, Vodafone are putting theirs up on 10 December. The 500MB pack is going up to $12 from $10  and the 100MB is doubling from $3 to $6.

Disappointing.

Yeah, they have to pay for the purchase of TelstraClear somehow. Putting up prices is the CEO's get out of jail clause.

At least they're not Sky "We only made increased our profits by single digits this year so we're putting prices up again" Television.

Didn't it used to be $12 for 500MB not that long ago anyway before it was reduced to $10?

And it is only $12 if you add the data as a once-off. If you add the recurring monthly add-on, it's still $10.

Still, disappointing that a 20% increase is felt to be necessary.
