I've noticed that my TCL STB has improved in reliability over the last month or two.  I used to get re-boots and freezing when using the EPG, but haven't had anything for ages.

I'm guessing that they've fixed whatever problem they were having, although their network status page still shows the problem as outstanding.

Anyone else notice an improvement?

I have had a couple of crashes in the last week or so...   nothing too significant though.  Have noticed that in general it is better than before.  Maybe it is somthing progressively being done??

Slightly off topic - does anyone know if there is any update to the TCL STB due out?  Maybe something with scart or component outputs?

I have noticed no improvements here, still resets itself, EPG data still takes hours to load sometimes.

Hmmm, guess I've just been lucky.  I assumed that fixing the STB issue was part of the speed improvements that have been happening with their cable broadband network.

We've noticed improvements in the frequency of crashing. At one stage it was quite bad and would happen almost daily. Regarding better model STBs, do you think that they may roll something out in conjunction with the big upgrade later this year? If there was a better model on the cards I doubt we'd see it before then.

There have been rumours of a PVR for a while.  Here's hoping...

Hi

Contirbutors to this forum are correct in assuming work has been done to improve the STB issues.  Our Broadcast Operations team in Seaview and our IS department have worked together to rectify some of the issues creating the problem caused by the high customer growth in the last 15 months.

This is not the final solution and our Core Head End Upgrade due for completion in early November will put the final patches in the systems to stabilise all areas of STB, EPG and reboot issues.

Apologises for the the annoyance caused by this and thank you for your patience and support.

Regards
