Having your number ported is not completely hassle free.  When I had my business numbers ported initially as part of the initial beta group, I was without business phones for a week as most people could not reach me from Telecom phones.  Not unexpected which is why it was beta, and I gather a Telecom problem.

Then last week my existing residential line went down, and it took a week to get it up again.  Not sure what happened there.
Then I had another residential line ported this Tuesday, and I still can't make phone calls from home .. except to other VFX lines Cry
I'm told it could be because they switched the last two numbers round when they did the porting ... but knowing the problem hasn't apparently helped me get an active VFX line ...

So cutting edge technology .. not always problem free.  I'm hoping to get up and running soon to reduce the heat I'm getting from the family!!

While it was only mobile number portability in Australia, there were major problems on day one- it was very well asvertised and it seemed like every one who wanted a port wanted it that day.  It was not as noisy here, I personally didn't see much advertising, but it did take us three weeks for our first port to go through, by which time the customer wanted to cancel their contract and go back to original company.  Not sure if she managed to save her number?  It still takes a minimum of 24 hours as far as I know, and not at all on weekends/public holidays.  Ports could be done in about an hour by the time we came back to NZ, and I remember being told it took several days to do a port in England.  Wonder if it's still like that?  Actually, we have lost several ports, commissions and time etc over bad consumer experiences.  Don't blame you for your frustration.

Some Senior Techs are working this weekend...infact I was notified about 11.30 and it was resolved around 12.30 / 1.00pm I think..., the issue related to the routing of your number with our core routing engine when you initiated a call, the system added a blank space to your number which was only picked up with a full system debug everything else, all other systems were showing normal call progression and routing, we are investigating how the space was added to your number.

Are those senior techs still working?

I can now call out, but can no longer receive calls - the opposite to what it was before Cry

Finally up and running!

Seems my Pap2t configuration had to be erased and reloaded after having had both lines activated during the debugging process.
