A new service will start to be added to all standard residential VFX accounts as part of the VFX package.

The service is Call Forward Not Reachable and is a great little service for automatic failover to another number when your VFX device is offline.

DESCRIPTION:
Call Forwarding Not Reachable allows you to forward all your incoming calls to a different phone number when your device is not accessible by VFX.

The way the service works is that anytime your system goes off line due to a loss of DSL, Power or turned off , with a 3 minute period the system will automatically start forwarding calls to the number you designate in your call forward  not reachable setting, as soon as your device comes back on line it will turn itself off.

The feature is accessible from both your Web and Voice Portals as well as * Codes

Web Portal
Available under the Incoming Call Settings.

The Feature Access codes are
*94 Activate
*95 Deactivate
Note * The Voice recording has not bee updated as of yet so will have a default American Womans Voice

The Service is currently being added to all VFX users now, Auckland Users will have a delay but expect to see it on your accounts by the end of the day.

I think most users will find this a very very handy feature.

Great work Phil!

Any ideas when this will be available for DVX users as well?

Regards
Nathan

Ir requires a slightly customised setup and and a change to the way DVX is configured at present, but happy to talk to DVX users about it now,

Thanks WXC. Great Feature!

Cheers,

Matt.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

Cool, this is a very good security blanket for potential new business customers.

I was always reluctant to run a "pure VoIP" solution, as if the internet went down a customer would lose all their incoming calls. With this new feature at least we can redirect calls to a backup PSTN line in the event of an outage.

Another reason why I feel that WxC is leading the ITSP market here.

Or even their mobile phones. Good for travellers as well which take their modem with them.
