So got an email stating that my internet bill will be increasing by $4 a month, from what I've read I thought this wasn't happening with naked DSL?

I do like the way the have included what other savings I'm getting in the email. Like the $120 a year I save because of the on contract mobile. But really this just makes their naked DSL the same price as the competition, so I'm not saving anything.

When I first started with Vodafone that discount was $30-$40 a month.

Who really uses Sky these days? ;-)

As discussed in this other thread, Vodafone are increasing virtually all plans by $4 per month, even in cable and UFB areas where they aren't facing any wholesale cost changes.

That doesn't seem right to me, a little dishonest especially using that as the excuse.

Wasn't it national news recently where we were all told the owner of the copper network was increasing the wholesale prices......so how is that dishonest. Mind you my recollection of the news was that there was an assumption by the commentators that retailers wouldn't pass on the charges. Someone has to pay.

You misheard if you thought wholesale copper access was increasing, because it's decreasing. The only situation where an ISP will pay more for copper access is where they're paying for a MPF for UCLL services as this has been averaged between urban and rural, meaning it's gone up in urban areas, but dropped in rural areas.

Yes the drop of the regulated price may not be as steep as first planned, but it's still cheaper from the 1st December that what is was on the 31st November even with the draft FPP ruling.
