Hi Guys, my contract with another provider is about to expire and I heard that voda cable is much better now.
I currently have adsl and syncs about 18/1 (down/up) and I could stream
Netflix in superHD using PS3 and ATV
hulu in Hd using PS3 and AtV
Btw Im using getflix as my smartdns

My question would be for users streaming netflix using ps3/ps4. Are there any problems streaming and able to stream superhd?
Last time I tried with telstraclear cable is that I am having issue due to TC was using proxy and smartdns does not work properly.
Is this still the case or this has been rectified already?

Pls advise as I am wanting to upgrade my speed. Fiber is not an option until 2016 on our place.

considering your 18/1 sync, would VDSL not also be an option for you?

makes sense if your happy with your current provider to simply upgrade your service to get a higher speed - sure, not quite 100mbit.

IF VDSL is an option, stick with it.

I am on cable, using UnoTelly and have no problems streaming Netflix, Hulu, Crackle, Amazon Instant Video on both Chromecast and Amazon Fire TV.

I've tried vdsl last year but not quite good as my distance is about 2km. Was getting inly 22/2 so went back to adsl.

I dont have amazon device and preferred my ps3. The quality is awesome with ps3 so hoping if someone here has ps3/4 that can confirm can stream superhd without issues.

hey guys, just want to update on this.

I went to my Uncle's place as he got voda cable 50/2 and I was impressed with my testing.
Connected my ATV and PS3 and both were streaming on SuperHD in just less than 30 secs.  My slingshot ADSL probably about 2mins or more to get SUperHD.. and btw my ATV wont get SuperHD with Slingtshot adsl but with Voda cable it was consistent getting HD stream..

I've also done speedtest via Ethernet and was getting about 40-45-Mbps down in US Cali. was really impressed with it.

I will definitely switch to Voda cable after my contract with Slingshot....

The question now is... should I got to 50/2 or 100/10... I think the cost different of the 2 is just $10 so might go to 100/10 - would be good to have 10MB upstream so I can do cloud backup.

It was really good doing testing... (it was not like this before when I tested - like when it was on telstraclear..).

Be careful about using your uncle's speed as a litmus test of what cable will be like in your area given that there are a variety of factors - as seen on this forum you can have people in Kapiti having an entirely different experience than say a person is having in the Hutt Valley.

I live in brooklyn and same area as my uncle just next street. Actually i was with cable before for about 4 yrs. and the only reason I moved to another provider is because of the smartdns was not supported before by Telstraclear due to proxy being used but this has now changed so I will move back with them.

Subscribed now with crashplan and taking advantage of upstream...

Kapiti's speed issue is peak time congestion which usually happens most nights between 5pm and midnight.

Can't even access VF speed test page atm.

I have requested official updates, access to contract termination team, and credit for service well below what is considered usual....and nothing.

Totally fed up with!!!!!
