Hi,

On my nexus 5 whenever I am on mobile data (2G 3G and 4G) the app gives me the error "Unable to contact server. Please try again later." but works fine on WiFi. I first reported this to Vodafone around April when the Android L developer preview first came out. My friend has this problem aswell with the same phone and android 5.0. Will and when will we expect a fix?

Thanks

The app didn't work properly on 4.4 either, both faults are due to the way it detects a connection.

Vodafone told me on twitter in early Dec that this has been fixed and a new update would appear soon.

I have version 2.5.3 on my Nexus 5 and it works fine smile

Currently, I am at home using my WiFi connection.

I will try it again later when I go downtown.

Damn!

You are correct.

The app is utterly useless when not connecting through my WiFi frown

What I found funny was I purchased a Vodafone Smart 4 Fun, so a Vodafone branded phone, and when I tried to download the app it said application not supported by this handset. It was a great value for money handset but without ability to run the app was no good for me.

Hi there

This has been fixed now. The My Vodafone app previously required GPS in the device to use the store locator, and that's not present in the Vodafone Smart 4 fun so it wasn't compatible. The current version of the My Vodafone app no longer has that requirement and we've just tested it on a Smart 4 fun now.

Cheers

Awesome, that's great thanks for letting me know. I'll go buy another one.

i find the app to be pretty much potluck draw if it will work.

a good 80% of the time when i go to use it, it comes up saying something like there is a problem with the system (of-course as i go to mention it, its not doing it so i cant show it.)

This was the Android 4.x error that's existed for the last 12+ months - if the app ever lost it's internet connection you had to manually force the app to close and restart it before it could establish a connection.

ah.

Considering an app thats intended for mobile use, that seems a little bit of a flaw in it then..

pretty sure i tried rebooting phone a few times and force closing the app, could be wrong though.

hahaha I have been suffering the same issue and only today I concluded it is to do with network type (only works on WiFi). Good finding, waiting for a fix.
