I've found that this service has hardly worked at all over the past few weeks and have actually started randomly checking the service quite regularly every day and find it's unavailable far more often than available.

At present if I txt bal to 777 I get a reply saying "sorry unable to process your request at present please try again later". I also get the same response if I go to the 777 IVR and request a balance. Sometimes the TXT service works and the IVR fails, sometimes the IVR works and TXT service fails. These problems all seem to have started once the MYA web service started showing a correct balance around 10 days ago.

What's up Vodafone? What sort of service are you running when people are unable to get an accurate balance? It's taken over 3 months to get the web based service working and even when the TXT service does work it still dosn't tell me my offpeak minutes or data balance.

Hmm I've just investigated this a bit further and find I can get a txt balance if I use the Vodafone SIM2 menu but not if I txt bal to 777.

Maybe it's just a problem affecting me? If so why does it work at times and not at other times?

Yip, major issues, I get long periods of unavailablity and when it doesn work it only shows my balance.

I used to get responses detailing my available minutes, video, and txts in addition to the balanaces, very poor IMO, now I have to ring up to get my full quota balances.

Yes, I have the same problems as well.

I also got a text a few days ago saying that the billing system would be down for a week or so (starting 14th October I think) while they made some changes.

VF dont give a crap about prepay customers - when I was on a plan, the service worked 99% of the time. On prepay, it works well under half of the time. Very poor, Vodafone.

It was too unreliable and when it finally did work about a week later, it showed me the real truth, $65 worth of calls as the entire billing system collapsed, I disconnected my mobile 15 minutes later.

NOTE: Name and account number is made up, rest is unaltered..

This is an On Account issue. I set my SMS Gateway up to send out for an account balance every 15 mins and it didn't fail once over a 12hr period wheras on account is causing all the issues.

I have also had this problem, "Sorry, unfortunately we are unable to process your request at the moment. Please try again later", both via Txting Bal to 777 & also via Sim2 Account Balance request. More often than not I get the above reply & when I do get any actual information, it is only my anytime minutes that I receive, I cannot get my VF to VF minutes or my TXT 2000 available TXT's, I am on the You Choose Mega Plan.

I have contacted Vodafone about this on numerous occassions & their standard reply is "out technicians are aware of the issue & we are working on the problem". To be honest I'm getting rather of sick of this excuse, it's just plain not good enough in my books & they need to get get it sorted ASAP, it's been 3 months now!

One can only hope they sort this mess out with their System Outage scheduled for this October 6-14th.

How do you know it's a simple problem? Billing systems are probably one of the most complex systems in the world and certainly one of the hardest to get right. Siebel isn't a piece of cr** by any means however trying to migrate a system does post plenty of issues. Without trying to knock you the fact you're currently information systems should make you fully aware of how complex such systems are.

Would you honestly keep upgrading a system without first fixing the problems?

If they had the courage to fix they would have fix it within 3 months

It doesn't take 3 months to fix a problem...

If they were on to it they would have already fixed it

There are so many people in the world that could have helped vodafone with their system.

It seems they are dragging it on....

3 months nothing has changed. " our techicians are aware of this"........

Vodafone NZ is too slow

If there was a 3rd network in NZ I would've ditched them ages ago.If there were competition then vodafone would have fixed this problem ages ago

Ditch them and move to Telecom.

Telecom do have some decent phones now at the higher end of the pricing and a couple of OK cheap ones.... or at least some that can be "made" decent! and a very nice mini PDA called Titan
