seems pretty equal to the 19$ prepay plan really...

Considering 20$ min topup and carryover on the 19$, this certainly doesnt do it for me.

also, 28 days? that would just get annoying!

IANAL but I'd have thought that Under 25 restriction falls pretty badly afoul of our anti ageism legislation?

  • It is unlawful to refuse to supply goods, services or facilities, or to provide them on less favourable terms or conditions, because of someone’s age. The definition of facilities includes banking, insurance, grants, loans and credit or finance.

I'm a bit of a Cypherpunk, who believes information wants to be free and the Net interprets censorship as damage and routes around it. Surely there's more to it than that, because under 25s definitely get "less favourable" insurance...

Which of those does VF Services fall under in your opinion?

Do you consider Mr Whippy refusing to sell kids ice creams to adults ageism too ? Or Restaurants with kid menu's?

The starting assumption is that ageism is not OK.  You are right here.  To qualify this however, someone can offer some deals / schemes etc. to only one specific class of people if there is a good reason for it.  It's called affirmative action.  Example: we need more Maori Doctors, so they get into med school a lot easier than anyone else.  If there isn't a good reason then it's discrimination.

Another one that does it is STA Travel (travel for under 25's).  It still annoys me that they can get away with it...

Initially it sounded like a good comeback to skinny, but then you realize : 28days * 12 = 336 , which is 29 days short in a year.  so you have to spend another 16$ per year

so it essentially becomes a $17.30 per month plan

skinny has pretty much same, but has "unlimited skinny minutes" instead of " free weekend calling to NZ mobiles"

so if you were to just stay in akl, skinny s plan looks much much better.

( edit : oh plus skinny's plan : any one can get, vfx : only under 25's )

I see heaps of things that are age related for terms,

Banks offer student packages
Cost of going to the Doctor
Gold card discounts, seen 10 cents off at challenge stations per litre, that's age related

So if there's a law no ones taking any notice of it, .....

Should be working - what happens when you go to it? Are you on mobile or desktop? Is your age in your Facebook profile >=16 & <25?

What's FaceBook got to do with this plan? Do you mean to say they are also discriminating against non-FaceBook users? What will the world come to if we loose Political Correctness? Sigh frown

Couldn't people make fake Facebook accounts so that they can get this plan?
