timmmay: Generally using ISP email addresses is a bad idea, it's time to move over to gmail/outlook/your own domain.
Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

Thanks! I strangely couldn't find those when I searched. Totally agree about moving to another domain but its for my parents and they're a bit slow/reluctant to change!
tchart: I retain my ihug email account (through vodafone) even though Vodafone arent my ISP. They charge $5.12 a month.

Still haven't got round to cancelling. Must check what is still coming through ihug. will be mostly mass mailers I think.

trig42: I don't happily pay for it, but I am paying for two old ihug addresses. I threatened family members with disconnection about a year and a half ago, and set them up with a custom domain on Outlook.com (which works great) and have it collecting the ihug mail. Still haven't got round to cancelling. Must check what is still coming through ihug. will be mostly mass mailers I think.

Custom domain on outlook.com sounds interesting. How can you monitor whether emails are still coming to the old address?
