i purchased my first best mate on 11/10/07,

i tried to add a second best mate, understanding that it would be an additional $6 to do so.

however when i tried to apply the bestmate2, i was told it was ~$10 !

their reasoning behind this is that 'we restart the best mate 1 on the same day (as of todays date), and you have to pay an additional 20c for each day ive had the first best mate running for

........... wtf ????

so they want me to pay MORE for a service ive already paid $6 for, and its not even the full completed length of time the $6 best mate is for ?

furthermore if that theory is correct, they should CREDIT me for the remaining 10 days of which my best mate is due to run out on which is the 10/11/07

any ideas what vodafone were thinking with this one?

I think you've been told a story..

Taken from the Vodafone website:

If you upgrade your BestMates add-on, Vodafone will charge you the the new add-on amount less the “unused” part of your original Add-On. The following month we will then charge you the full monthly fee for your new BestMates Add On.

Maybe you are being charged $12 for both bestmate's, minus $2 (10 days remaining at 20c), which would equal $10??

My complaint with Vodafone is adding a best mate ties in with your billing run, so since I just added a new best mate and I've also just come into a new billing period, I'm going to have to wait another month before mine kicks it. Big whoop'd.

Why does Vodafone make you wait for your billing run before making changes? Why can't it be immediate?

Switch to prepay! I finally got a Vodafone prepay today for my 6234 (which serves life more as a video camera) and it's amazing! So real time and so SELF SERVICE. No having to deal with the monkeys, Now I have to work on the PSTN - GSM trunk unit.

I think it only applies if you change your plan or setup a new bestmate.  Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Heh, I'm not debating.

I just know that when I used to work there they did allow you to load on YC minutes/txts anytime during the month, and would pro-rate the amount and charge, but you could only remove it on your billcycle (or change to a different YC bundle) ..

It could be different with BM's though.
