Hi all,

I upgraded to Unlimited 50/2, but honestly can't tell the difference from my old previous 40GB 15/2.

Ran the Speedtest and got a maximum download speed of 20 Mbps. Mainly wondering if anyone else have reached higher download speeds?

Edit: I'm in Newtown, tested using http://wellington.speedtest.vodafone.co.nz, over Wifi. Will do another test by connecting straight to modem.

How are you measuring this, over wifi or over an Ethernet cable?

read those, if you are in Kapiti then you are SOL, but they are working on something

If you dont think you are receiving what you are paying for report it as a fault

ALWAYS test over ethernet.
Tests over WiFi test the speed of your WiFi, which may be (much) less than the speed of your cable connection (in your case nominally 50/2 Mbps)
As the speed of an internet connection can vary widely according to the time of day (typically at its worst at 9pm) it is also important to specify the time of the speed test.
The speed of my own cable connection varies more than it should, with a big drop during peak hours.

False alarm guys, tested using a cable straight in to the modem and got 48 Mbps. Thanks for your comments! Incredible that the speed halved when using Wifi.

I get 99/10 over wifi all the time. Try 5Ghz wifi. Should give you better speed.

to get this you require devices that support it, which not everyone has

i doubt it will help the op if they are only getting 20mbs currently

I've been seeing this a bit recently. :) I find it really interesting that often the bottleneck has shifted with these fast plans.

There might be a new niche service for on-site wireless network optimisation.

This morning my speed was download 48mbps upload 9.5mbps. After a reboot of the routers this is the current speed result. I am on the 100/10 Cable Plan,

Last Result:
Download Speed: 99004 kbps (12375.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 9985 kbps (1248.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
