www.vodafone.co.nz

They launched a new site design only 3 months ago, now they have gone and launched another new design.

Would this have been their plan all along or is it more likely they didn't like the new site design?

Personally, I think this latest site design is great, easier to get around!

It's definitely cleaner and leaner... not a surprise though as Vodafone UK has similar/same look and feel. Thought Vodafone AU still look somewhat like the previous version, Vodafone DE has new look.

Yeah it is a nice design, a few kinks to work out yet, but overall it looks pretty good.

What I hate though is that it's no longer centered in the middle of your screen, it's all pushed over to the left! Grrrrrrr!!

Why is all the roaming pricing wrong? Do Vodafone not know the new roaming pricing starts today?

There are a whole lot of broken links at the bottom of this page: http://www.vodafone.co.nz/business/plans/

(Haven't checked anywhere else)

I was told by Paul that Vodafone will be working on fixing the roaming - including the Vodafone Traveller package information, which is nowhere to be found, even though in theory it started today, 1st November.

The new site design was mandated by Vodafone Group; all Vodafone operating companies were expected to achieve a specific degree of adherance to new guidelines by 1 Nov.

Plus it looks cooler.

I've noticed the coverage maps have not been updated with the new site, especally the Broadband coverage. My N95 seems to get "3.5G" which I assume is HSDPA with no problem all over Hamilton.

Thanks for the feedback so far!

A quick (re)introduction from me, I've been with Vodafone 4 months now as the guy who gets people to our website then counts them. Hailing from Gisborne the last few years I've been lived in various parts of California, Colorado and Otago and now in Auckland.

I'm not here as an official spokesman like Paul but will be a direct contact to Vodafone's Online Team.

As well as matching Vodafone's new global online look we've made the new site easier to navigate with most content being within a couple of clicks of the homepage. We're aware of the issues with styling, formatting and linking at the moment and working hard to fix them quickly.

The content on the new site is the same content as was on the site yesterday with updates to come.

Keep the comments coming and feel free to message me directly if you like.

Cheers,
Mike

PS. If you enter an address in the Coverage Tool you'll get more up-to-date coverage info than the maps.

All I can say is "he he he he.......Whadda mess!" most links do not work as yet and it's a strange 2 styles.

Though I can now "connect a phone to on account" online even though the pages say "choose your supa prepay number" and can rummage through the number ranges.

EDIT: I was testing the online number allocation system by hammering buttons, editing scripts and inadvertently "bought" a connection, whoops... it skipped a step before I could "review" and double check payment as I wanted to see if I could edit in my own number...... yikes!

It will be interesting if it goes through which is doubtful... The phone was "free" and Mega disconnection only $40 so if it does randomly go through, I have some vodafone anytime minutes (which would actually be handy this month for something I'm doing) and a cheap Sharp camera phone as a christmas pressie!

Hi dannyb and mike,

Great to get feedback on Geekzone from VFNZ staff!

My personal feelings are that the new webpage is a definite improvement over the original.

However.........another very great improvement that could be made is a drastic slimming down and simplification of the login page. Please remember that there are an awful lot of us out here who are stuck with dial-up, and no prospect of broadband in the foreseeable future. The login page is PAINFULLY slow to load when accessed through the crusty copper dial-up network. Sticking it on a fierce diet would endear you to a huge number of us!!

Any chance....................??

Cheers,

George

One thing that's been well received with the redesign is having the login box on the homepage so for most people it's one less click to login.

The old login page hasn't been brought into the new design yet and trimming it down to be fast loading is something we'll absolutely look at.

How long before the roaming pricing is corrected? It still contains all of the old pricing if you select an individual country rather than the $1 per minute for incoming and 80c for SMS's
