Tonight my Xnet ADSL is not just slow - it's gone ! (Auckland North Shore)
Using my long-dormant ATTGlobal dial-up account, I criuse to the XNET home page to check the Network Status. If I don't do that - and just tear apart the system to replace the ADSL router - I always find that my personal problem is, in fact, regional.
Anyway, I search diligently over the XNET homepage - and then through all the menus - and I'm dmed if I can see a Netwok Status link anywhere. I know XNET is proud of being a high-quality service, but this is over-optimistic.
I'm aware of the Ticker service running at the top of the page - but it slowly waffles on about Francton and Wellington being resolved two days ago. Not really current status...
So I drop Network Status into the search box and lo! up comes the expected Status page.
A bit of a disappointment, as the last item is from September.
So now I don't have much confidence - one way or the other.
Come on guys - you can do better than this. Scap the eye-candy ticker bar (why would I want it there when all is well?) and give us back an honest network status log.
A classic example of KISS.
