Seems Vodafone Fiji is doing something similar to what Vodafone NZ did here.

Funny how their outage period is only 3 days, and Vodafone NZ's was 6 weeks!

How many more people are there in NZ compared with Fiji?

Population of Fiji is ~920,000

so NZ is approx 4.5 bigger in terms of population. So based on that NZ should have been able to do their upgrade in 3days X 4.5, so just under 2 weeks. Except it took 3 times longer than that.

True, thats 3 days of 'Fiji Time' so it probably only took them a day and a half.

Why don't people see the bigger picture? Just because NZ is 4.5 times bigger in population than Fiji, doesn't mean that the VFNZ systems upgrade should only take 4.5 times longer.

Obviously that time estimate is completely speculative, but please enlighten us by what you mean by the above statement.

All I really mean is that im not a major techno-billing system-whizz and I'm sure the rest of us aren't either. I'm just assuming that this was a major upgrade and just because Fiji did it in x amount of time doesn't mean VFNZ should follow the same (inflated of course) time frame. VFNZ has over 2,000,000 customers and heaps more chargable and complex services than Fiji.

And we don't know the extent of the Fiji upgrade, either. It may be quite a minor one.

And also, the military government will be "encouraging" them to push it along.............!!
