Vodafone network outage currently in Central Auckland. Can get signal but can't make or receive calls.  Have checked with few others around here, same issue. Can others please report?

Confirmed here right through Birkenhead / Beach Haven... Our help desk has gone nuts for people who rely on 3G....

The outage has also effected Vodafone 3g RBI connections we have in Oamaru, North Otago & Takaka, Tasman this morning - so it is fairly wide spread. It seems to be up at the moment though

Still not working here in Wellington. Noticed my phone had no signal and said Emergency Calls only earlier but didn't think anything of it as I didn't need to use it, only just seen this now.

And I thought a Facebook outage was bad ;)

Funny thing is I was playing a game at home on my phone, it was getting hot and I realised Wifi was off so was chewing through 4G. I took it out of the case to cool down and turned wifi on and then it dropped off network. Rebooted it and it got it back but low signal and dropped out again. Thought I'd overheated the baseband chip or something and killed the phone. Fired up the old 4S (After a long precharge as completely dead) ready to take my phone to Apple only to find it was having issues. Only then did I check the Vodafone network status.

Had problems in Christchurch since 6am this morning. Drove to Ashburton around 7am with no data or voice services all the way. Since then it has come back a couple of times but have spent the majority of the day with no service. Hope they get this back to normal soon as its making work a bit tricky.

I did get a text a few days ago saying they are upgrading the network in my area and there may be some disruptions. Maybe someone tripped over the cord while performing the upgrade?

My wife was having major issues with text messages yesterday, people getting texts up to 4-12 hours late, or not at all, and vice versa. But some were fine. Located in Whangaparaoa. Was this fault a likely cause of these issues?

Yes it was related some SMS were back logged and when issue was resolved the SMS in the SMSR store were then pushed out over a few hours and real time SMS got priorty so were delivered before the SMS in the store

I know this probably sounds cynical, but if this was a Spark outage, I reckon it would have been on the TV news. For some reason, Vodafone still seems to get away with these 'blips' in service without the media microscope being turned on them. Maybe they just have a better media team... or maybe Spark is just more fun to beat up on in the media.
(I have no reason to support Spark, but I'm just sayin'...)
Edit - I didn't watch 3 News, so if it was on there, I stand corrected.

Oops, if it was on TVNZ I must have been in the kitchen slaving over a hot dishwasher and missed it.
Sorry.... embarassed

Still, why let facts get in the way of a good conspiracy theory?
