Is support for Microsoft Unified Communications Server something planned?

Interesting question....this was discussed at a conference I was recently at, we are looking at it but it looks like it is not fully ready for working with our backend platforms yet, it is also a difficult deployment at  first looks but we are waiting for some more detail and disicussions with some equipment vendors before we decide how we will procede.

It's certainly a very interesting product and allows a company to tie everything together with one solution. Having said that it's not offering many features that can't already be offered using other solutions out there.

I'd certainly be keen to have a play with it just to see how well it works.

I attended the Microsoft Unified Communicatios Launch this week in Auckland - very interesting - and I managed to get two LG-Nortel USB IP Phones.

The only thing is that these only work with Microsoft Office Communicator, so I am thinkering with the idea of installing Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 here - but would need support from an external VoIP provider.
