I notice sometimes that when i send a large attachment by my vodafone email on thunderbird that sometimes I get a message to the affect that the file size is to large for the server.

Is there a way to lift the maximum file size I can send ?

Thanks

bernard

No.

The typical limit is 10mb.  After that you should use dropbox or something like that.

Even if you can get John to up the limit for you, you still have the problem that John can't lift my limit on my[1] system when you're sending to my customers.

[1] ...or the owner of any other system that you might be sending to.

Hence the general rule is 10mb.

I think Gmail allows larger attachments but 10MB is the business rule

Email just isnt designed for large attachments.

Use Dropbox/Box/GDrive/OneDrive/FTP/Mega instead and email the link.

I actually set some of my systems to be larger so the customers don't bother me about it, but I fully agree.
