S
o it looks like Red+ Essentials now has 5gb of data up from 4.5gb and 6 months of Netflix included.

Is there any information about existing users like myself getting the bonus.

I don't know, but I imagine everyone already on that plan will get the data upgrade but not the Netflix

I've been watching these plans for a while because of the competitive roaming offer. A shame there's still no carry-over with On Account.

Only assuming here but when ever my Red Essentials moves I am given extra data.

I am up to 4.5GB on the $99 plan (which includes a phone rebate)

Between myself my partner both with iphones and ipads we don't get near using that amount of data.

Not sure why you'd need carry over with those amounts :)

I just had my billing a couple of days ago, charged $79 but then got a $10 credit and still only have 4.5gigs

Carry-over data suits my usage better. Some months I can use next to nothing. Others, when I'm travelling extensively, I can use a lot.
There's clearly a market for it as Skinny has responded to 2Degrees and introduced it in response to customer demand, and Vodafone has it on prepay.
Still, having just ported my partner before she headed to the US, Voda seems to have an excellent mobile network and that roaming deal can't be beat. Every carrier differentiates themselves in some way I guess.

The Red+ Essentials update is a new version of the plan. The previous version of the plan (4.5GB, $69) has been grandfathered. If you're on the earlier one you can stay on it, or you can move to the new version of Red+ Essentials open term at $79 a month. The new plan has 5GB a month and six months of Netflix included too.

Just checking if you know about our On Account shared data plans? One person needs to be on one of the normal Red+ plans and then their data allocation can be shared with other mobiles and tablets. http://www.vodafone.co.nz/red-share/

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Hi Dylan,

Yes I am on redshare.

This works well for us. So 4 devices sharing 4.5GB and I still only use 2.5 at the most, and that is with tethering for a few full days per month at work!
