Hi all

Thought you might be interested to know that if you need to swap your Vodafone connection from one sim to another you can now do this yourself in My Vodafone. Just head to our website from your computer and sign in to your My Vodafone account as normal, pause a moment to admire the new design, choose menu in the top right, and then sim swap and follow the steps.

You might need to swap to another sim if you've lost your phone, if you've got a new phone that needs a new size sim (e.g. moving from micro to nano), if you're getting set up with a Semble sim, or very rarely if your current sim has developed a fault. You'll need a "blank" sim with no connection on it as the destination sim, they're available from our stores (I'm very certain they're free too).

If you have contacts saved on your current sim make sure you move them to the phone or to a cloud service before doing the swap. I like saving contacts to my Google account personally.

There's more details about sim swaps on our site here http://www.vodafone.co.nz/simswap/

Cheers

Dylan

Good stuff!

Should I go into store and get a box of them just in case?

Do the stores hand out more than 1 at a time?

The lack of calling in will be handy.

Noticing failures to load a few resources on the page though, might wanna check it..

Isn't this the same as Skinny's SIM swap which they've had for some time?? I remember doing this with them last year when I wanted to go from a normal mini SIM  to a micro SIM..

Not really the same as you would visit a different providers website and the colours are different as well

And what does it have to do? Seriously, what a loaded question... It's a new feature, if other telco had that before, big deal.

Come on folks, hate for the sake of hate?

Good to know and very useful feature to have, save you from having to be on hold to the call centre to do just that.

Not hate.  Just pointing out that someone else had the feature before Vodafone or is that not allowed now??
