I'm contemplating switching to VDSL/VOIP with WXC on their $99 package.
I don't know anything about the company.
Does it have a good reputation?

I use them for my parents ADSL + VoIP and find them really good. The router they provide is rock solid too with plenty of features.

Many other people use them here and I only see good things about them.

I think they have a pretty good reputation.

I was a customer for a few years and was quite satisfied with their service.

They were slow in having uncapped accounts. That was the reason I moved away from them.

Another vote for WxC's VoIP service (called VFX). I've been using it for 9 years now and recommend it to anybody who wants something that 'just works' like a POTS landline. On the few occasions I've needed to call WxC over the years, the service has been exemplary. Pricing is very sharp too, especially when compared to the land-to-mobile prices charged by Spark and Vodafone.

I used WXC fibre for two years. Solid performance. Ended up moving away because their costs were too dear. But if their price looks good to you, go for it.

I found them good when I was with them, as they had no long term contracts. Can't remember why I left, but probably better deal with Spark. I was looking at them again just yesterday, and they seem to have gone the opposite way, now requiring a 24 month contract on their fusion unlimited plan, with a nearly $300 early termination fee. I wouldn't want to lock myself into a contract for longer than 12 months.

Great technical people to deal with, been with them since the days when they answered the phone even before you hear it ring. Now you have to wait a bit longer, until you hear a couple of rings. No overseas call centres.

Conns are that they can be slow to release updated plans, and they are certainly not the cheapest. But for me the cost vs. quality is a fair trade-off. There has been recent complaints that their fibre speed is not the fastest available (they offer 30/10Mbps), again there is a trade-off as the "pipe" is only so wide and when the "faster" ISPs get lots of customers then they it is not such an issue. A number of years ago WXC got burned when they were attractive to torrenting users and everyone's speed suffered, dropping to dial-up. They grew too fast. But they have recovered and consistently provide a quality service by not attracting the masses.

Their network is built for VoIP, with internet access added to it. Other companies provide internet access and then try to add VoIP to it, which is why no one comes close to the VoIP quality of WxC. I believe they are still the only carrier grade VoIP service provider in the country.

They always had a reputation for very low ping times, they offer a technically superior product. And they also never force you off an obsolete plan/offer.

Add to the "slow to bring out new plans" that they also do not reveal upcoming offerings. It just happens sometime, whenever. No major marketing, but usually it is announced here first so "watch this space". They tried TV adverts for a short while, but stopped.

I'll vote for the WxC party, and Maverick as prime minister.

Good tech support, never had any issues with them at all, only moved because I have a direct link to the office internet now.

WXC, been with them for years now, plans are slightly more expensive than other ISPs, however their support service is 2nd to none, whether by email or phone the support staff are on to it.
Currently on the $99 all you can eat voip plan, router is solid, plug and play and they can remote in if required to make any changes you may have difficulty with.

Recommended.

Same here - been a customer for what seems like a lifetime, using their VFX (voip) service and it's been fine. I don't however see any benefit of having it voip over a standard pots line. Especially when you see other companies bundling better call packages, and extras into those pots lines. So 100% positive for the awesomeness of service and technical consistency; but not sure I would say that their product is any better than others (for what we use it for).
Also just note; that if you are moving from a pots line to a voip service, remember you will need a ups for power in the case of an outage...unless you want your phone line to drop too :)

Nope! Currently on a VDSL plan with them and fibre just got available at my place. Can't use them because they lock you in for another 24 months and dont offer fast speeds (30/10) and can't go anywhere else because im only half way through. Probably my fault for pulling the trigger too hastily on them.

I used their VFX service a few years back and it was excellent. I only moved away (to 2talk) because I wanted a more advanced feature set but didn't want to run my own PBX.

VFX is great as a POTS replacement, and gives you all the features of a standard POTS line, plus a few more. They tightly manage the config of your VoIP device at their end to ensure the set up is as reliable as possible.

VFX is the 'iPhone' of the VoIP market, and 2talk is the 'Android'
