Is there a modem with a built in wireless router that also allows you to plug your existing telephone into the modem without buying the Pap2t device?

Personally, I'd advise against a Linksys modem (the WAG54G v1/v2/v3 all are very poor at holding a DSL connection)

However, here's the answer to your question:

The WRTP54G is the modemless version.  You simply plug in a modem between the device and the phone line.  I'm running a Dynalink RTA1320 in half bridge mode and is working well.  I believe that Dynalink is one of the better modems with nice features, but that is only what I've read and it also depends on which day of the week it was manufactured.  The first one I got would drop the Ethernet interface after about 5 minutes of running, but getting a brand new recently manufactured replacement from Dynalink was painless.

I am very happy with my WRTP54G, and being modmless I can take it with me when we go to the in-laws for a weekend and simply plug it into their router.

Hmm it seems I cant find any reviews for that modem.

As I am planning to get my friend up and running with xnet.I am trying to find a good modem wireless router for him with vfx.

The Modem is probably the most common one in NZ, after the so-so D-Link modems.
