Is it just me or did a whole chunk of the internet disappear for a minute or so about 2:12pm? Google.com was returning a 502 server error page and I couldn't get to a whole bunch of sites... (Could get to Geekzone.co.nz but not, for instance, Flowdock.com)

Yep, had a similar issue. Significant traffic issues for a short period (<4minutes) noticed here.

No outage on Vodafone DSL, but terrible performance and packet loss/timeouts for the last couple of hours (still ongoing)

Yes, I noticed our cable Internet in Petone stopped working around that time yesterday. I powered off, then on, the modem to see if that would do anything -- nope. But the Internet connection was re-established soon after.
