I had never used this feature on VFX, I just set it up and tried it, and got this:

0683400** is the calling party

There was no attachment. Maybe there is a setting I missed?

Oh wait... there are two fields - one for a notification email address only, and one to send the whole message to.

It arrived as a wav file, with this filename:

0683400**_20071207_125935.wav
..^caller^ .... ^date^ .. ^time^ (12:59:35)

Tony

Thank you for the reply

Is there a limit on the .wav file size ?

I imagine these could get quite large eg someone leaves a 10 min msg

This is one of the best "Smart Phone" features of VFX in my opinion, I use it constantly.

Rather than diverting calls to a mobile, it's easier to receive the Voice Messages in an e-mail and then my wife or I can deal with them appropriately.

The attached WAV files are pretty small, usually well under 100kB therefore small enough to download via Mobile Broadband if I'm out on the road somewhere.

My file was six seconds long and 11kb.

Even if it is 2kb per second, thats pretty good IMO

Agreed, works brilliantly. One of my favourite features. The only thing missing is the option to send the WAV version and then automatically clear the message from my voice mailbox. Currently I listen to the WAV on my PC/Mobile then have to go through the chore of manually clearing the mailbox afterwards.

Yes exactly!  That is the one minor bone of contention for me as well.  Every so often I pick up the phone and use the DELETE ALL option (7) which gets rid of all the saved messages in one go.

Argh but there is Guys, if you don't want to have the message in your Mail Box just use the Forward to this EMail setting as appossed to EMail a Carbon Copy, this will not save a copy in your Mail Box and you will also not get a VM indication on your phone

"If you always listen to your voice messages using your e-mail account and do not use the phone retrieval option, select Forward it to this e-mail address: and provide the e-mail address where you want your voice messages to be sent."

Phil can you point me to where I can find this option?

I'm looking in the Voice Portal at the moment under Messaging | Voice Management and there isn't any option to "Forward to e-mail" only to "E-mail a Carbon Copy" as has always been there.

Please enlighten me Embarassed

Thanks.

hmmm now for the embarassment part & sorry for this, yes we do have it but it is not available at present as it is part of feature set that is locked down, if it was vailable it has the potential for other voicemail settings to be changed and this could stop Voicemail working completley.....sorry again Embarassed , I will look at some options around this

No worries Phil, we have lived without it for a year or more and I'm sure a bit longer won't hurt.  Just let us know when you want it Beta Tested Wink
