Hello Everyone,

I want one unified mailbox for my mobile and landline (VFX). I can set my Vodafone to divert on busy/no answer to the VFX Voicemail service, but how do I get VFX to answer the call as a voicemail message
instead of a voicemail logon prompt???

Vodafone mail sux, it deletes voicemails after 10 days, new or not and doesn't have all the amazing features WorldxChange Voicemail does.

Probably because you have aliases on for your Mobile ?, so the Mailbox sees your Mobile Number calling if you have alias on it automaticly knows this number wants to logon not leave a message , if you turn this off then it will be prompted to the message after it finishes ringing your land line

I think he's looking for a way to do it without forwarding his phone to his landline.

So, I ring mobile, mobile forwards to VFX voicemail and I leave a message
instead of
I ring mobile, mobile forwards to home line (rings some more), no answer timeout/busy, forward to voicemail, I leave a message.

I'd love that too (although I'd never thought of it before). I'd instantly set up my mobile to use VFX voicemail!

Perhaps there is a product here? Link other CLIs to the same voicemail box? :) I wonder how many people would
ditch their mobile voicemail?

Problem with that is you would pay the per mintue charge for a call from your mobile to your VFX mailbox for someone to leave you a message. Personally I would rather let vodafone store the message for free and me retrive it for 20c

A GSM trunk unit running off Asterisk works great. You can set it up as a BestMate and forward your calls to your Asterisk VM and look at the CID - if it's not from your own number you can send it direct to VM. If it's from your own mobile number you can give yourself access to an Autoattendant or whatever you'd like.

The GSM unit is cool, but a bit too much hardware for me at home. :)

My problem is that I never check my voicemail. I've got 5 unheard messages on my Vodafone VM (just checked it). My VFX voicemail sends me an email, meaning, I never miss a message, regardless of where I am.

I'd love to have my Vodafone VM on VFX, and I'd happily suck up a 50c/minute charge (based on my plan) to get it.

Do what I do, record on the greeting that you have missed the call and to send you a text if you want a call back. Then never check messages again on it.

I simply never setup my Vodafone voicemail so no one can leave me a message. My phone is always turned on so I can see when I had missed a call. If I do not want to be disturbed then I put it on silent. Does not solve the problem of the original post, but that is the least cost option that works for me. Can't miss a message if callers can't leave one!

The way I have my set up is that my landline diverts to my mobile (at 35c per minute) which then diverts to my message service. I hate voicemail and having to check it, so I find paying for messages to be sent to me in text format to be much nicer.

Of course, that doesn't stop the slingshot telemarketers from calling it, or the protest march auto dialers...

Hmmmmm. Would work, but thats another $20/Month on top of the extra $40 cost to clear messages, and
divert from Vodafone... Starting to add up.

Maverick??? Wish there was a cleaner option, I thought there was a option to bar my mobile number from calling the VFX
line so it would automatically bounce to voicemail, but can't find this setting. Similar, but not this.

Vodafone's Voicemail price is tempting at 20c a call (instead of minute) BUT they delete messages, saved or not, listened to or not within ten days, and I sometimes use my voicemail as a todo list when I get busy.

Also their voicemail is very primitive, with no voicemail to e-mail etc.

While checking through previous threads, I realised you can also call 0800 14 14 14 from your mobile and get the VFX Voicemail service... sweet.

Cant forward prepays tho.

Vodafones voice mail is very primitive, but its all there is unless your on contract.
