I'm not sure there really is much to comment on.

802.1p (and typically DSCP as well) tags are very rarely transported between networks for a myriad of reasons. I would certainly never expect to have correct 802.1p or DSCP tagging ever be in place when using a VoIP provider that is off network from your ISP.

Ok, thanks for that. It just makes it all a little more interesting though when my VoIP account invoice now comes from "Vodafone Next Generation Services Ltd". I understand how companies are run as separate entities but was hoping that they may play nice with QoS tags. Thought maybe if the VoIP packets were making it to VF with a DSCP tag, then maybe they could add the 802.1p tag on those packets heading downstream to their customers. Fully understand the technical reasons why this probably isn't possible at the moment though, with separate networks traversing the big bad internet etc.
