Just got a quick question about the Nokia 6101..

Does it have number portability?

Also i am sure but not completely sure that number portability is when you can change from eg 021 1234567 to 027 1234567

Am i right or wrong on what number portability is?

Thanks in advance :)

I believe on GSM / WCDMA handsets, it should not matter if the number is native (in this case Vodafone 021) or foreign (Telecom 027), as the SIM card will hold this information.

Number Portability enables the end user to change carriers, without the need to change phone numbers.

Correct MSISDN is not programmed into handset or SIM: MSISDN is only on network.

GSM (as johnr says, Global System for Mobile) is what Vodafone's core 2G network is based on. While WCDMA (Wideband Code Divisional Multiple Access) is what Vodafone's 3G service is based upon, with a number of improvement’s including HSDPA (High Speed Data Packet Access?)
