I purchased a prepaid K1 and it doesn't work with my Vodafone NZ SIM. Whenever the NZ SIM is installed I'm prompted for an unlock code. I'm looking at purchasing an unlock cable from Trademe, but am not sure it will work. Also is it possible to flash the phone to remove the Optus customisations? Any help appreciated..

Have you tried contacting Optus and asking for the code? I'm unsure what their current policy is in regards to giving out codes but you may be able to get it for free or a minimal fee depending on how much you paid for the phone (ie full price or fully subsidised)

Thanks for the reply. I'm holding out paying the AUD$ 80.00. I've tried these guys http://www.unlockexperts.co.uk/index.asp?ad=gidea&gclid=COya_Y6iiZECFQacggod1Ec5Fw will wait 24 hours for their reply.
