I was wondering if there is some way to put a recorded message that plays at the start of each call before it is then sent to me. Kind of like the starting 'welcome and a operator will be with you shortly' message before you get the normal dial tone (and wait for the operator).

Asterisk will do this for you (Yes I know... a bulldozer approach to inserting a push pin, but hey....)

There may be a few options to do something like this when the advanced features are released. The closed option at this stage is to have two VFX numbers. Have the first VFX number always send calls straight to voicemail. Have some message... welcome to such & such, bla bla etc... press 0 now to be transferred to an operator. You then set the feature to divert to your 2nd VFX number using the voicemail "press 0" option found in your VFX web-portal.

Now that's more like a help desk scenario.

I would actually like just having a message and without the button pressing, but that's a darn good idea too.

We use a program called Genesys that plays the "welcome to *** you are talking to ***" and the individuals record the message themselves.

looks after the press 1 for this press 2 for this as well

Might be more of a big business package I guess,
The helpdesk is not allowded this option what is annoying

Something goes wrong with it at least once a week anyway.
