Hi there

I have a Vodafone Smart Prime phone. Yesterday and today I get alerted to an error: 'Error updating Vodafone Start'. Nothing more is provided.

1. I have no clue what Vodafone Start does.

2. How do I update this? Or is it safe to remove Vodafone Start from my phone (not listed in the App list though)?

I had a similar problem yesterday but it eventually sorted itself out.

Vodafone Start is the Vodafone app that updates the other Vodafone apps on your phone.

On my Smart Prime I have the option to Uninstall Updates or Disable but not Uninstall the app.

Me too. It might have been caused by being on the edge of wireless in my house, where the connection sometimes drops.

It looks like it is downloading when I am at home connected to the wifi, but the wifi isn't cutting out, nor have I had trouble downloading and updating apps on my phone through that wifi yesterday and the day before. I guess it may decide not to throw up an error at some point.

Do you have a 'Vodafone Updates' app or something similar? I think it may have renamed itself to 'Start' with this update.

Just look through your app drawer for the all red icons. You should have Call+, Message+, Smart Tips etc and one that updates the other Vodafone apps.

If you have it, run it and see if it offers to update itself to Vodafone Start.

Yes I have those apps (Call+ etc.) Loaded the 'Update' app and it says Vodafone Start has an update. Tried updating that way, but nope still an error. To be honest, I just want it to stop downloading and attempting to install. If I'm out and have my mobile data enabled, I'm not entertaining the Vodafone Start app to chew through my data allowance.

How to I get rid of it?
