Was this a parallel imported? If yes, then Vodafone can't really help. You can check the settings in our Vodafone forum or visit the Sony Ericsson support website and have the settings sent to your phone. Or you can visit the store where you purchased the phone and have them configure it for you.

If the handset was purchased in NZ you would not have to configure the handset!

Also if you are on prepay ask customer service if you have the * APN (unverified)

Are you using the handset as a modem? connected to PC

Sorry bout my crap explanation.
I am a vodafone on account holder.  I am not using the phone as a modem.
I am wanting the correct settings to set up the internet on my phone, ie. vodafone live, PLAYNOW, MMS etc.

Ok then. I still want to set up my phone for those things. Playnow is a feature on the phone that you can use for purchasing ringtones

You only need 1 access point to do that

live.vodafone.com IP 172.030.038.003

Try the vodafone wireless portal http://wireless.vodafone.co.nz/

Also remove all the old access points you are not using and set the modem to GSM only!

Also remember if you don't have a data plan and leave vodafone live its $10+GST per meg!

Also if you use a imported handset the risk is yours!

Well I will just ring sony ericsson and see if they can fix the settings for me as I have read other threads to say it is possible. Also my friend has the exact same phone and her settings are all correct as well. Thanks for your help

Just make sure its not a vodafone issue by trying your SIM in a handset you know that is setup correct!

If SIM works in another handset then you know its a handset issue!

My sim card works fine in a samsung ZV10 phone.

I will just find out what my settings are for the Z610i and go from there. I have no problems with GSM/3G, video calling works fine etc.

Hi there. Thanks for your help.  I have downloaded the settings for the K610i to my Z610i and it now works fine. Can get vodafone live perfectly. Am unable to download internet settings for the Z610i, as its not recognised in New Zealand. Which is fine, cause I wouldn't use my phone to surf the net, too expensive.

If you can access vodafone live then you'll be able to use the internet.its the same setting but for retrieving email you don't use the VF gateway setting
