After reading few post here regarding receiving Vodafone Bill in electronic format, just tried my luck phoning and requesting my bill to be sent via email, but answer is NO. Well the CSR mentioned that you can setup a on-line Vodafone account and see the billing there, yes this a known fact. I've also asked about a email notification (Like Telecom dose) saying my bill is ready and the amount to be paid etc, answer to this is ''No we cannot send regular notifications''.

Well this is annoying... as I have all my bills sent via emails also not to mention banks are promoting statement stopping and to use the on-line statements. Regardless whether Vodafone NZ is helping to ''save the planet'' or not this service is a convenient factor.

Well I have been Vodafone customer for 10 Years (Remember the Bell South times?) how many trees they would have killed?

Years ago there was an option on the Vodafone website so you could elect to receive your bill via e-mail as a PDF instead of the paper snail mail.

For Vodafone people reading here, no it is not the now defunct NZ Post eBill.

I still receive my bill via e-mail every month. But Vodafone fails to acknoledge this exists.

I worry one day someone will kill the application (which is probably running in auto pilot) which means I will not receive any bill - neither paper or e-mail.

No one at Vodafone seems to know what is this about... Not surprising.

I think I must have missed this opt-in opportunity for the on-line bill.
Well, they must be looking for another big implementation of this service with a big budget; not knowing this is already exists not thinking build from there or improve from there.
This is typical in large organisations

Vodafone doesn't currently offer an electronic bill replacement for its customers. We did have a service (Mauricio is using it, for example) where we would send out a PDF of your bill, however that was a manual process and we have discontinued it. Those that have it can continue using it, but we're not signing up anyone new.

The reason for this is that in the next couple of months we're launching a new online bill service where customers can sign up to go paperless (they will no longer receive a monthly paper bill). Each month they'll receive an email and/or TXT alert (if requested) that directs them to log on to My Account where they can download a PDF of their bill. The online bill will also have some new capabilities built in (graphs showing the split of TXT and voice for example) and there will be a 13 month archive.

 

Those who are using the existing PDF service will still be able to receive their PDF via email but we'd encourage everyone to use the new system when it launches.

Good news Paul... I will not miss this opportunity, will wait for this and opt-in ASAP.
 
Hmmm Vodafone will not leave any ''carbon foot prints'' after this is implemented.

I wont even do business with places that will only send paper statements nowdays.

Took the power company the longest to do it. and they still post out notification of problems with the direct debit rather then emailing me but apparantly that will be sorted soon enough too.

Posting a bill is unacceptable in this age IMO since email is faster cheaper and more reliable. A web site that can access past bills is a nice to have, but unless I get the bill in PDF in my inbox each month then its still effort on my part to get the bill and I would rather not have to.

Great to hear this.  I currently get all off my bills on-line, except VFNZ.  I too have asked a number of times about if/when they will start electronic billing and have never received any kind of answer until now.  For me that only leaves a couple of questions:
- Why is VFNZ so far behind the 8-ball?
- Will there be any incentive offered to customers who opt in to this? (ultimately saving VFNZ a large chunk of money)

Paul, can you look at still having it simply pushed to the customers email address as an attachement?

The setup of having to log in to our website and view the content is rather a pain when you areb on a mobile device (Vodafone is a mobile company after all!)

Which would be why we'll send you a TXT with the link. You can download the PDF to your device. I can do that on my BlackBerry Pearl and it's only GPRS so I'd hope you can do it with a Treo or similar on 3G.

So will the TXT alert just be a direct link where you can get instant access or will it still require you to type in usename and password into the website and then click 5 links to get it? (like most of these "collect online" systems do) which kind of defeats the purpose of online bill, I'd rather walk outside to the letterbox.

The copy of my bill I got the other day was 120k. For those on casual data plans it would cost about a dollar to download (Depending on bill size) if it was counted towards data use. Is it likely to be free to download?

I would hate for Vodafone to make money on me recieveing my bill.
