I'm new to NZ... so took the opportunity to sign up with an ISP offering naked dsl and Xnet seemed like the goer with their great call costs etc.

However, since I signed up (and the telecom guys eventually connected the correct wiring pair in the exchange) I see it's quite difficult to get a non-linksys device enabled for VFX.

I'd prefer not to have to buy a new ATA or get a asterix trunk etc up and running when the NB9W modem / router I have has a sip client built in.

What are the chances of getting the sip settings and an auth id etc rather than having to buy a linksys ATA?

Zero chance unfortunately Phil Frown

This has been discussed many many many times ad nauseum...

If you look through the WorldxChange / VFX forum, you will see the reasons why have been documented in exhaustive detail by Maverick.  If you look through the various posts made by him, it should tell you everything you need to know.

Here is one to get you started:

Great, thanks for the quick reply.

I've now got asterisk set-up... now just need to speak to the technical support guys to get the details.
