If my plan includes eg 2GB of 4G data, does Vodafone count this in megabytes where 1024MB = 1GB ? or is it 1000MB = 1GB?

Just interested to know, as some overseas providers seem to use 1000MB = 1GB, so you're actually getting less.

My plan has 1.25 GB of data per month. This comes up as 1280 MB in the 'My Vodafone' app so it looks like 1 GB = 1024 MB in this case.

Ah.. the old 2^30 vs 10^9

For old schoolers 2^30 is everything except for HDD's which are 10^9 advertised (Or Marketing Gigabytes :-) )

But around the year 2000 to stop this confusion it was decide that  GiB (Gibibyte) 2^30 was introduced and GB is 10^9 (Gigabyte)

But people still use 2^30 for Gigabyte.

Apple for example actually define that they mean with GB. (And depends on the date/what device you had)   https://support.apple.com/en-nz/HT201402
