My first post here, look forward to exploring some very useful info...

I signed up because I am utterly fed up with Vodafone and heard they actually monitor this site.

We have Vodafone (originally TelstraClear) cable TV, Internet, and phone. Vodafone TV now merging with Sky. Just about every month TV goes on the fritz. We unplug everything and reset. Several times. We still get a "service unavailable" message. We call Vodafone. And once we navigate the umpteen menu options, we are told "due to exceptionally heavy call volumes" there is a waiting time of 30 minutes.

This is absolutely hopeless customer service. We'd get rid of the landline except for a few family members. We'd get rid of TV and go all Internet TV, but still like BBC TV and a few other channels.

If lack of decent service continues and it keeps failing, we'll ditch it. Anyone feel the same?

If you'd like to direct message me with some details - happy to ask the team to look into your connectivity issues.

That was fast, much faster than waiting for the call center! I've sent a PM. Still keen to hear what others think.

Great to have the initial reply above, would love a follow up and some action…maybe this week. Trying to get through to the call center replies infinite patience!

Vodafone TV failed again two days later. Blue STB light on remote illuminates but channels not changing. Unplugged STB and modem and reset. Message appeared, “servce unavailable.” Repeat three times, finally it works. Total times spent: 15-20 minutes. Vodafone replaced the ancient STB about a year ago, but it seems to be failing with increasing regularity. Also, response time from remote seems longer than it used to be.

I just changed from triple service to naked broadband.  Not due to technical issues, just lack of TV content that interests me.  And my landline never gets used (cordless phone currently on the bench, flat).

I'm on Cable, it works well enough for me so I didn't see the point in changing provider.  Call took 5 mins on hold then 10 mins to process at about 9am this morning.

Unusually efficient and painless.  :-)

Hi these seem to be the same issues that occurred when I was trialling it for Vodafone in Auckland over UFB unlike Sky Tv if their is an issue it can't seem to recover unless you reboot the router and the Vodafone TV box. On more then one occasion while going away for a week we would set up our shows to record and on return not one recorded due to some unrecoverable issue :( If they could get it working better it would be fantastic, better quality picture than Sky.

Good response from Vodafone service and tech team this week. They tested connection remotely and found no problem. Suggested if it goes down again we should power up the modem first and then the STB. This is because otherwise the STB cannot find the connection. Will try it if necessary.

Another option was satellite but we already have cable so would prefer to keep it. I get that people are moving to Internet more and more but we still like BBC. Unfortunately UK BBC iPlayer is not available in NZ. There are various mirror sites or other ways to get it but not straightforward. So we'll keep with Vodafone for now but keep an eye on reliability and pricing.

Thanks to everyone for your input.

We went naked BB and all we ever do is watch catch up through BBC iPlayer, ITV and Channel 4 through virtually all our devices or Smart TVs. Also live UK (and Aus) channels through our Smart TV.

It was much easier to do than I expected.

The VodaTV boxes are pretty flakey. Mum had similar issues; she ended up getting a replacement box that seems to have sorted out most of her problems.
