Hi,

I just have another episode behind me of 'don't touch your system if yo use a vodem'. After installing Bluesoleil to get a Bluetooth headset running and installing VMWare server at the same time, the Mobile Connect software doesn't come up anymore. Ah yes, I also bought a USB memory stick.

Are there any known issues or ways how I can alleviate problems like this? I understand that all three software pieces either set up virtual network connections, disk drives or similar, but is there a way how I can control what resources the vodem uses?

I did call Vodafone support, but like always I ended up doing a system restore to resolve the problem. See my other question.

Any pointers would be great.

Regards,

Jochen

often with the vodem i have found that if you change stuff like VMware or anything that messes with your adaptors you will need to go into control panel and unistall the vodafone mobilce connect lite runtime, once you have dones this restart the pc and then start from scratch, this normally fixes things.

also the Vodem just acts as a USB CD-ROM drive so if it is pluged in and detected you should be able to open the contents in explorer and just try running start vmclite.exe that or a file along those lines, my memory escapes me!

and if that doesn't work i have found that if you flash the vodem with the generic Huawei software it is more compatible with different software installs than the vodafone software, but that would void any offical support from vodafone so do at your own risk.
