A couple of guys from work have mentioned this, so thought I'd post here and see if anyone could post some suggestions.

2 guys, both in the Christchurch area have queried about how their phones wont sync work emails while they're at home while connected via WiFi on the supplied HG659 routers. Both individuals have recently moved to Vodafone Fibre. Current solution is to turn off WiFi on their mobiles and sync via data. Their laptops work without a problem.

Office 365 Exchange Email sync works without a hitch at work, which is also on VF Fibre, though not using a HG659 . These are VF supplied Lumia 640 devices.

Any ideas?

I see this is the official tool for the purpose: https://diagnostics.outlook.com/

Otherwise you might need to perform a packet capture, at least to find the host names to ping/traceroute. I have to say though, out of all NZ ISPs, Vodafone seem to be the one where unexplained loss of connectivity to parts of the Internet seems to be an all too common occurrence.

Might give this ago, but I'd be sceptical to say the least since outlook on the PCs work without any issues. Meh, never know, it's worth a shot.

The host name for Office 365 Active sync is eas.outlook.com

Sorry haven't tried the diagnostic tool myself so can't any advice there.

There is a setting on the hg659 which prevents office 365 sync from working, i can check the correct setting to change tomorrow evening, unless someone else beats me to it. Cheers

I was sure it was the "RA Settings" on the modem (login as vodafone, Home Network -> LAN Interface Expand RA Settings)

I've turned mine back on, but the Phone seems to be behaving with it's syncing. (I'm also up to date with Windows 10 and all the updates, so perhaps that makes a differences)

Are the 640's updated to Windows 10?

Unfortunately I do not recall what the admin password is set to on the router, so I cannot pick in deeper to check.

See if that fixes the issue - if not, I'll reset the modem and have a pick into it.

Thanks for checking, will query with the guys and see if that makes a difference. I believe the 640's are still on 8.1 - unless there's an optional way to force it to Win10.

For upgrading the 640 to Windows 10 - in theory the windows update will advise when it's available, however I needed* to install the Upgrade Advisor from the app store - that setup the phone and installed it for me.
