Hi -

I know this post is going to come off in part as me venting, and I apologise for that. But I'll start with the story.

I am trying to sign up to the Xnet Fusion plan. I'm not unreasonable, I know there will be waits, as there aren't many other NDSL plans around. So I left a phone message, and let them ring back when it works for them.

Two weeks later, I sent an email instead.

Around a week after that, I got a phone call back - but this was responding to the message I left three weeks before! I still haven't heard back from the email.

The person I got on the phone was, in their defense, very good. They emailed me a form, which I faxed back the next day.

It's now been near a week since I sent that, and I haven't heard back, even to say "Thanks for the form, we'll get back to you as soon as possible". I don't know whether I should fax it again on the assumption they haven't got it. Would they normally have rung to confirm receipt?

My question is - is there a faster way for me to do this? I'm currently on Woosh wireless, so I'm not one of those who has no internet or phone until Xnet hooks up. But it just seems so difficult to sign up to this service.

I wanted to go with Xnet because I've heard, time and time again, from people who know more than me, that they provide a great service, so I want to give them the benefit of the doubt on this. But there's only so much longer I can get my flatmates to put up with the 10kb/s or so that we are getting from Woosh (in their defense, because we are no longer in their official coverage zone, and as such it only barely works). And, as they keep reminding me, Clear could have hooked us up almost a month ago.

Are there any tips people can give me? Things I should be saying? Is there anything I can do to put this into a more reasonable timeframe?

[Edit] I know this is my first post - I'm a long time member and browser, just never posted before... Creepy and stalkerish, I know [/Edit]

Applying via e-mail is definitely better than phoning, because often you are not available when they phone you. When I sent my e-mail, I also got the form and faxed it back. It took about a week to get everything sorted except the number port, and the number port took a couple more days. But no, they do not update you on the progress. This is my biggest gripe about the process, otherwise it went smooth for me.  Note that I was already an XNet and VFX customer.

Even better, talk to a WxC dealer (*ahem*) and they can do it even quicker for you, plus keep you updated on the process from start to finish.

A dealer can sell WxC products and services for both business and residential - WxC doesn't deal with any businesses directly, so businesses must go through a dealer - residential have the option to do either.

We primarily concentrate on businesses, but we do the odd residential signup to be helpful here on Geekzone. Plus we are a good bunch of guys Smile

If you do want me to sign you up, send me a PM with your contact details, and I'll call you in the morning.

Regards
