There have been a few issues with calls dropping using the Voip service, I've heard this happens sometimes with voip lines but seems to happen pretty much every phone call after about 20 minutes. Is this normal?
No not normal, and it's actually every 10 Minutes this occurs for you, now the problem is your device is not responding to an audit message we send 10 Minutes, this message just makes sure the device is actually still online and not a hung call, we don't get the response from the unit so the call is disconnected, it may be the router in front of your wrtp is causing this, what type of router do you have ?
Will take a look at a couple of things and see if I see anything else
I don't know if this will help but if it is the WRTP54g try standing it vertically. I had issues with dropped calls on this unit until I stood it up. Now it is solid as a rock. It seemed to be heat related.
My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.
This shouldn't really happen. I have no problems with it, having made hour+ long calls on vfx. Very happy with service =). My setup is a PAP2T though with existing modem/router.
My WRTP and my modem stands on their side, has been since new. It helps with convection cooling. But still, it should not be that unstable when sitting flat. The reason I want mine to run cooler is simply because it will last longer, not to make it stable.
SL22, telling Maverick your modem/router model number might help.

VFX - ADSL Modem/router dependend? What ADSL modem/router recomended for VFX, if I take my SPA to Overseas can I plgn in to any ADSL line and start using it? Thanks
In general the modem (or router if you have that as well) does not matter, but some of them do give problems where e.g. their firewall blocks one of the ports used by VFX. This has been reported from time to time on this forum. The firmware in your router can also be an old version with bugs. Or the router might not support QoS.
But looking back through SL22's posts I see he has an AM300 as well as a Netgear router and he had trouble setting things up. So my guess is that there is a mistake in his router config.
SL22, do you have the Netgear plugged into the WRTP and the WRTP plugged into the AM300? That would be better than having the Netgear between the WRTP and the AM300.
Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.
I got rid of the netgear modem+router, that piece did me nothing but trouble, plus it isn't supported by the Xnet team so selling it. Good to hear this isn't normal, I freaked for a little bit there as I was talking to a friend from ACN (American communications company) who are in the process of setting up an independent network in NZ and she seemed adamant that the VoiP in New Zealand dropped calls and was shoddy. Lol bloody salesman.
We are going to see if we can get this model of modem off Linksys to test as your unit is doing something a little bit different, otherwise I have a couple of options for you as because of what I am seeing I would like to
1. Swap your setup for a WAG54gp2 or 2. Swap the wrt54g for a WRP400
Would it be possible to borrow one of these off you guys? Spent around 300 on network gear along with a good 3 weeks trying to sort this stuff out. I'm starting to see the bottom of my patience and pockets, not blaming you guys at all, new techs always a bit of a hassle. Don't think I can front up more money to get a WAG54GP2. I'm a student after all.
