This morning my wife rang me on her cell phone.  There was no dial tone on our line.  We are XNET Fusion customers.  I got her to reboot the WAG54GP2 router and the line came back again.  There was Internet access before and after the reboot.  Strange I thought, lets keep an eye on that.

Tonight I was downloading flat out at a reported 6.2MB/s and my wife came to see me, phone is not working.  I stopped the download and the phone is back again.  Its all worked perfectly while I have been overseas the last three weeks.  Seems my intense broadband use is the problem.

This is my replacement router as the previous new one didn't work reliably.  Have I got a second faulty router or does QoS just not work for the phone line under XNET Fusion?.  Do I have to permanently reserve the phone some bandwidth and if so how?

Thanks

A question on this , did this occur on wireless or directly connected LAN ports,

Would be interested if you could see reproduce the issue,

The heavy traffic was on the wireless port.

Thanks for this, I believe this may be an issue and I think Linksys have been looking at it, may effect the phone line when fast downloads are occuring via the wireless, not sure of the ststus of this but will try and find out

Mark another one down for the same problem. Same router (V2). There are other issues as well, but I'm pretty sure the WAG54GP2 has a hissy-fit when wireless is being hammered. I think this goes for local (LAN) trafic as well as ADSL traffic.

Cheers

Shouldn't be on the LAN, I think they are aware of the issue on the wireless, I have the Linksys rep in here in about 35 minutes and will be bringing this up for discusion

Maverick.  Just goes to show I should have put a cat-5E cable into my home office. Too bloody late now.  It wasn’t an office when I built the house hence the use of WiFi.
Have been really impressed with XNET internet service so far. It’s just so fast, and I regularly download large files form the US and UK (work related) plus large files from Indonesia (kids related).  Hope you talk with Linksys was useful.  Looking forward to hearing if there is a solution.

There is a new firmware release on the horizon (very close), so waiting to see if it addresses this specific issue

Another new firmware?? We only just had the current one (2.01.06)

Slightly off topic, but still related:
For the WAG54GP2v2, is it possible to either make the firmware a manual d/l instead of pushing it? either that or sending an email or something to let us know when you plan on sending it through?
I ask this because the last time the firmware was updated via Xnet I must have inturrupted the process without realising it, and thus had problems with a bad flash (short story, my LAN and WLAN got seriously screwed, especially DHCP).

yick to auto update of firmware.  What if your running a custom firmware, would that be lost to the new?
