Hi..

I tried uploading a wave file to the vfs portal under /Messaging/Greetings

Im having trouble with this...

If anyone has been able to get this working, can you please give me a quick guide..

eg what programes you used.. ect..

also im trying to convert an mp3 into wave to upload that..

ok,

click:
start -> all programs -> accessories -> entertainment -> sound recorder.

now make your recording.

then when you go to save it, go file -> save as, click 'change' -> change the format to 'CCITT u-Law', and attributes to 8.000kHz, 8bit, mono. 7kb/sec. then click ok, then save . Laughing

Can you open it in sound recorder and then save as a wav or whatever?

radiotech... mmm didnt try that will give it ago on Weds when im back on my work pc with MP3..


manhinli - ahha thanks but no thanks.. im not installing iTunes :)   hate it..
                It would prob do the job tho.. but im not installing it

Sound Recorder will do it if you first convert the MP3 to uncompressed WAV.  However, there is heaps of free sound utilities around that will do it in one go.  One that will most likely do it and a lot more is Audacity, but it might be a bit of an overkill for what you want to do.

There is a help file as well, under messaging /greetings, which will have a link to recording a audio greeting
