I have a Linksys WAG54g V3 (not the VFX box) with a VFX PAP2T connected.   I am trying to set up QoS on the router to prioritise the PAP2T but must admit it appears rather complex compared to other routers I've seen.

There is a QoS Settings List which I have tinkered with but am not sure what the "Source" MAC or the Destination "MAC" represent.  Is "source" my router and "destination" my PAP2T?

I have set Protocol to ALL, ALG to SIP and PRIORTY to HIGH.   I have to admit to guessing this stuff as I have not found a lot of gen on the web and the manaul is rather light.

Any assistance greatly appreciated!!

Cheers

Darryn

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

Thanks Hairy - I wish it were that straight forward. That's how the WRT54 handles things.  I'll try and post a screen shot of the WAG54G..

Good stuff from previous post - still not sure what detsination or source MACS are. (I know what the MAC address is but not sure what device is which?)

Cheers

There's no entries (no MAC addresses) and yeah my first go at posting an image resulted in my post above.  Was being cautious not to have the image TOO big!

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

With text it can be reduced to 640 wide and still be read,  best would be post the full size picture and use the geekzone editor to display the size you like,  Interested people could then look at the fullsize.

Wish I was more technical use to your issue, good luck.

Hi Darryn,

The WAG54G v3 should do QoS on VoIP traffic automatically. ie you shouldn't need to setup QoS or ALG settings.  Diffserv in the WAG54G does it all automatically.

Can you please switch off all your QoS settings under the QoS tab in apllications and gaming as well as disabling all the ALG options (next tab along from QoS).

Can you please advise if you have any QoS issues once the unit is configured in this fashion?
