Hi

I just found this add

http://www.expansys.co.nz/a.aspx?i=162933

It's for a Palm Centro. Has anyone here known of the Centro working on a New Zealand Provider like Vodafone?

Cheers Possum..

It should work just fine. Just remember - it is running Palm OS, it's available in the US for US$99 and it won't have Vodafone live! or Music Store or Sky TV support.

Pretty sure it's only available in the US for $99 if you take a 2 year plan with At & T. Prices are listed as "from $99".

Palm.com lists it as "from as low as $349" when keeping your existing plan. Where did you see the $199 price?

I din't think they are available in the U.S. if not from Sprint or AT&T - which is $199 before rebates.

I can't see a listing for U.S. without being with a carrier.

Thank you

I like the idea of the Centro as I used to have a Palm Zire71

Would you think the Nokia N95 would be better

Cheers Possum..

There would be a big difference between the Palm and a N95. The model you are looking at is the AT & T version which is not 3G. The Sprint version is 3G but is CDMA, no good unless you want to switch to Telecom.

They are indeed very different. The Palm Centro is the entry level Palm, while the N95 is top range Symbian device. The OS offers many more resources, a lot more memory, camera, and more...

Ummmm... why don't you just get the Palm Treo 500v?
Pretty much the same hardware, except it is Windows Mobile 6 and it is ready to go with Vodafone Live! NZ services.

I'm in luv with my Palm Treo 500v Laughing
There is a review in the March 2008 NZ PC World mag.

Here you go:

Even if you get charged $50US for shipping you would still land it here for just over $400NZ.
